 Belleek GALA Ball
Belleek GFC Gala Ball has been arranged for November in the Canal Court Hotel. This is the first ever GALA Ball  that the Club have been involved in, a lot of hard work is being put in by the Committee, and with the Event having been launched by Joe Kernan [Armagh All Ireland ‘Sam’ winning manager & Crossmaglen Estate Agent]
last week, this is the biggest
ever fund-raising night in
the club’s history and with
the new football field having
been purchased, it is hoped,
that it will do the trick.
With the Club going from
strength to strength, from
a senior and one under-
age team in 1986, to a complete deck in 2008, Under-8, under-10, Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16, minor, senior and Under-21 players, we need space, which we don’t have. The buying of the new football field should help immensely, but with the Club getting bigger and bigger by the year, it could only be only part of the solution.
Belleek are hoping that the community will row in behind us, the GALA Ball has the ingredient of making this a worthwhile event, the tickets will be priced at £100 each, with a table consisting of ten persons. It will be a super night; the food in the Canal Court is magnificent, it will be a night where even families can come together, where business men will mix with the ordinary sixes, everyone will be in a comfortable mood. Belleek GFC committee over the last number
of years have really grown in statue.
Who would have believed in those early years
that we would have to run, Lotto’s, Golf Classic’s,
£50 ticket  draws and now a GALA Ball for to
survive? In 1983 when we came back in from the
wilderness, it was all about fielding a team for a
Sunday game, now it takes money, a lot of money to
survive, and with it Belleek needs to make some,
times have really changed. This effort is a real big
one for the Club; we need for it to succeed, but we
need all the community and hopefully those from
around, to support us in this venture.
The tickets will be out within the next fortnight, so
let’s all get involved, lets make this a great night.
The Belleek club is working for the community, for
your children, this fundraising event is about improving facilities for the footballers, supporters and most of all your children that are coming along  in the slipstream.
So Lets make the Belleek GFC GALA Ball a real success.

Prestigious Fundraising Gala Ball set to
raise essential funds for Belleek's GFC
The mighty Joe Kernan has launched a prestigious fundraising gala ball in aid of the Belleeks GFC.  The event will be hosted in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry on Friday 28 November and is a first for the club.  It is anticipated that guests will attend from around the county to raise essential funds to support the development of vibrant sporting facilities within the Belleeks area.
On November 28th, the Canal Court will become a hive of entertainment with a tantalising menu, a variety of entertainment and very good company.  The ball is sure to be a Night of Glamour and Glitz and is certainly promising to be one of the highlights of Newry’s festive season social calendar, with the influential Michéal Ó Muircheartaigh as the after dinner speaker and local Benny Tierney as MC.
This event is a perfect opportunity for "corporates" to entertain clients or treat employees to a great night out. Alternatively family and friends could use this social event to catch up with each other, while supporting a very good cause.  There is no denying that the night will be filled with fun and laughter, while guests get to meet celebrities and enjoy kick starting the festive season in style!

Commenting on the launch of the Ball, Secretary Fiona Bradley stated “As the main provider of sport within the community this places a responsibility on us as a club to provide the best possible facilities.  We like many other clubs are faced with the arduous task of fundraising to provide amenities to meet the needs and expectations of all our members.  In a world of ever rising costs we are reaching out club members, businesses, entrepreneurs and other GAA clubs to assist us in our endeavours to meet the expense of much needed future development”

Joseph McCreesh, of organising committee stated” We have major fundraising targets in place and without community support for the event we will be unable to provide the additional facilities that our community deserves”
Joe Kernan concluded the launch by stating, “that small rural clubs like Belleeks GFC are at the forefront of sustaining the Gaelic culture of their areas and this type of development is demonstrating their commitment to the sport and I am encouraging you to support this worthy event”
Roseleen Quinn Club Chairperson stated that these are big times ahead for Belleek GFC, the GALA Ball is  a big undertaking for the club, and with the support of everyone, committee and Community, should prove to be a big success.
Tickets for this prestigious event cost £100 each or £1,000 for table of ten.  There is great interest in this event and people are advised to book tickets early.  Tickets can be purchased from Rosaleen Quinn on 02830878959 or Fiona Bradley on 02830879435 or email belleek-laurence-otooles@armagh.gaa.ie
